When Shlomo (Solomon) HaMelech was about to become the King of the Jewish People, Hashem appeared to him in a dream. He asked King Shlomo what he desired in order to become a successful ruler. Shlomo did not ask for enormous wealth, a mighty army, long life, or some other impulsive passion. He asked for “a wise and understanding heart” (Kings 3: 5-15). Hashem was so pleased by the unselfishness of his request that He answered “…behold I have done according to thy words; I have given thee a wise and understanding heart…”
This beautiful story symbolizes the essence of the Jewish heart and is the inspiration for my trademarked design The Wise Heart® Sterling Silver Pendant.
